Publishing a Calendar with Lulu

This week, I decided to veer away from book publishing altogether to experiment with some of the other features Lulu has to offer. As you know, I published my second photo book. I also tested out the calendar publishing feature and experienced similar setbacks.
Another frustration I had was the calendar format. They offer a standard and premium selection in the traditional wall calendar format. What I’d like to see offered is engagement/appointment books as well as desk calendars. Lulu is missing a huge market by not including these formats.

[...] ran across an interesting blog tonight, which covers self-publishing through Lulu. I’ve linked to her most recent post, but [...]
What setbacks did you experience with your book?

Hi, Deborah,
My setbacks involved page positions that interrupted the “flow” of the design. Once I fixed these errors (by adding or subtracting blank pages), the publishing process went rather smoothly for me. My biggest beef is with obtaining the ISBN, which forces you to create yet another revision of your book.
I hadn’t thought of doing a calendar with Lulu, what a great idea! Thanks for bringing it up.
There’s so many things you can do with Lulu. Creating a calendar with them isn’t too hard. The quality isn’t bad, either.
